February is one of those months that won't let you down when you can get on the water. Yes it's COLD...Yes there will be some ice to deal with...Yes it will probably be windy...Yes the lid on the minnow bucket might freeze on...Yes the water is 32 deg (liquid ice) but YES you WILL catch fish. The steelhead and walleye are in a prespawn feeding binge. They need to build up their energy reserves for the spawn in March and April.
